NSFK/Deutscher Luftsportverband(DLV) Flight Knife [F.&A.Helbig Steinbach/KR.M.]

National Socialist Flying Corps (NSFK)/DLV Flight knife - this is the lightweight version made entirely of aluminum, circa 1944/45: Double-edged blade with rare, reverse-side manufacturer's mark "F.&A.Helbig (GAEFLER) Steinbach / KR.M". Aluminum hilt with pommel and crossguard; The swastikas, milled on both sides, are painted copper. The delicate leatherwork on the handle and scabbard, with its original blue paintwork, is practically completely preserved; the mouthpiece features the NSFK eagle. The matching knife sheath is flawless, with aluminum fittings and an identically well-preserved paint finish. Attached to the carrying ring is the original leather hanger with an oval connecting plate made of riveted aluminum; the aluminum snap hook bears no manufacturer's mark.
