Kriegsmarine (KM) Officer's Dagger w/banderole [WKC/Solingen]

Kriegsmarine (KM) Officer's Dagger - [mid-production period] *very rare dagger variant with inscription on the blade: Bright blade with intact leather buffer and manufacturer's mark "WKC" [Weyersberg, Kirchheim & Cie, Solingen] on the reverse. Both sides feature decorative floral naval etching, anchor and sailing ship motifs, and the motto "Fester Mut in Sturm und Gefahr" (Steadfast Courage in Storm and Danger). Brass fittings and eagle pommel with the delicate gilding largely preserved; grip made of ivory-colored Trolen with the simple wire wrapping typical of WKC. Silver portepee made of seawater-resistant cellophane. Hand-chased "lightning bolt" scabbard with oak-leaf-decorated bands and grooved suspension rings; the gilding is largely intact, and the scabbard matches the dagger in terms of wear and condition. Complete with the untied silver portepee made of seawater-resistant cellophane.

Lightly worn, in remarkable condition.
