Luftwaffe Officers Dagger 1st.Model as FJ Shooting Price [Robt.Klaas/Solingen]

Luftwaffe Officer's Dagger, 1st Model (so-called "Borddolch"), awarded as a marksmanship prize by the Stendal Paratrooper Cadre Company: Early production featuring a clean blade and buffer pad; the reverse bears the stamped manufacturer mark "ROBt.KLAAS/SOLINGEN". Nickel- and silver-plated fittings; the pommel features applied, gilded sunwheel swastikas. The crossguard bears an inscription in Old German script on the top side: "Dem besten Schützen b. Oberjäger Preisschießen Stendal 1938" (To the best marksman at the Stendal Senior Paratrooper marksmanship competition, 1938). The dark-blue leather-wrapped grip retains its wire wrapping largely intact, though showing slight wear in places. The accompanying scabbard is of the early nickel- and silver-plated type and includes an aluminum carrying chain; the snap hook bears the manufacturer stamp "OLC" and the mark "GES.GESCH." (legally protected design).
