Third Reich M38 Hirschfänger (Hunting Dagger) – German Shooting Association [Eickhorn/Solingen]

Third Reich hunting knife of the German Shooting Association Model 1938 - gilded version for higher leaders: The nickel-plated blade with intact felt pad and hunting decorative etching on both sides, on the reverse with early manufacturer's logo "Eickhorn/Solingen". The obverse crossguard features oak leaf ornamentation and the enameled DSV emblem. The white grip is free of chips or cracks and features applied rifle motifs. S-shaped crossguard and pommel made of gilt non-ferrous metal. The black leather scabbard has gold-plated fittings and a patent leather belt loop. Complete with the original wrapped Shooting Association portepee in the gilt version with green interwoven strands.

A rare item in lightly worn condition.
